The Abyss
The abyss came to claim all we were
It arrived in a missile-shaped form
Carrying with it revenge and destruction
And a terrible vacuum was born
Nothing could fight nonexistence
When nothingness took all the light
Our will to create became urges to kill
Over lack we assumed in our fright
What solace in sharing our stories
Can we find beyond our own pains
If the world sinks into madness
And our lifeblood flows from our veins?
Revenge is for those who desire
To force their grievance to die
Because they find no thing on earth
That will ever satisfy
Where there is emptiness inside us
Forgiveness can flow in
When we see the truth of it
The abyss will never win
